Creating a New Web from Your
Web Template
So you've purchased your first FrontPage template, downloaded the
ZIP file, and run the install file contained in the ZIP. Now what...
What version of FrontPage are you using?
FrontPage 2000
1. In FrontPage, go to FILE > NEW > WEB

2. Choose the Web Template you wish to use from your list of Web
Templates.

3. Specify the location where you want to publish your new web.
This may be a local folder on your hard drive (for example, C:\My
Documents\My Webs\newWebName) or you may publish directly to your
server.

4. Click OK and FrontPage will create a new web for you using
your template.
FrontPage 2002
1. If you do not see a taskbar on the right of your screen in
FrontPage, go to File/New/Web.

2. On the taskbar to the right, choose "Web Site Templates" under
"New From Template." FrontPage will also list some of your recently
used Web Templates if you want to choose one of those instead.

3. Choose the Web Template you wish to use from your list of Web
Templates.

4. Specify the location where you want to publish your new web.
This may be a local folder on your hard drive (for example, C:\My
Documents\My Webs\newWebName) or you may publish directly to your
server.

5. Click OK and FrontPage will create a new web for you using
your template.
FrontPage 2003
1. If you do not see a
taskbar on the right of your screen
in FrontPage, go to File/New.

2. On the taskbar to the right,
choose "Web Site Templates" under "New
From Template." FrontPage will also list
some of your recently used Web Templates
if you want to choose one of those
instead.

3. Choose the Web Template you wish
to use from your list of Web
Templates. Our products install into
the "My Templates" directory. 
4. Specify the location where you

5. Click OK and FrontPage will
create a new web for you using your
template.
FrontPage 2003 DWT

Save the download (.zip format) to your computer (note the
location so that you can find it!). You will need a utility such as
WinZip to extract to a folder.
Open the folder.

Run the installer. In the package you downloaded is an .exe.
Double-click the exe and follow the prompts to install it for
FrontPage 2003. (The package has an additional folder which you will
not need if you are starting from scratch.)

In FrontPage 2003, go to File > New, then click More Web
Site Templates.

Click the "My Templates" tab and look for your web template.

Specify the location for your new web if necessary, and click
OK to build the new web.

You may then open pages from the Folder List and begin
editing in the "editable regions." We encourage you to review
the template's instructions for more information about changing your
logo and using the templates.
